Ten North Group is thrilled to announce Art of Transformation 2023: AFRICA GLOBAL, an extraordinary celebration of African Diaspora culture and creativity taking place during Art Basel Miami Beach and Miami Art Week 2023. This annual program is designed to explore issues in African and African Diaspora contemporary art while inviting artists of African descent from across the globe to Miami for a week of artistic and cultural immersion. From December 3 through 10, experience Art of Transformation through a series of exhibitions, panel discussions, performances, and film screenings in the architecturally distinct city of Opa-locka, Florida.
The arts festival offers five exhibitions, including Fragmented Worlds/Coherent Lives, curated by Tumelo Mosaka (South Africa). This show explores themes of fragmentation, mobility, and adaptation, featuring thought-provoking works that resonate with the complexities of the African Diaspora experience.

Programming events include Landscape Noir, a conversation on how art can be a catalyst to transform previously forgotten communities. Additionally, there is a Performance & Voguing Workshop with Afro-Caribbean artist Edrimael Delgado Reyes, an Afro-Cuban dance performance by the IFE-ILE Dance Company, and a headline event featuring a panel discussion led by curator Tumelo Mosaka, followed by artist Glorimar Marrero Sánchez’s film screening exploring themes of grief, identity, colonialism, and gender.
