During the winter, the world’s deepest lake (1,642 meters) freezes over to a thickness of 5 to 6.5 feet. The ice forms are stunningly beautiful and many visitors go to the Baikal Lake just to experience a breathtaking nature in front of their eyes. Ice cracks all the time and this makes for some creepy sounds. Photographer Kristina Makeeva walked the lake and made incredible photographs.
