If only we could see Marcel Breuer’s reaction to this. The Chairman, by Shizuoka-based industrial designer Kouichi Okamato, is an extreme take on the suspension-based chair that recalls a distant descendant of the Wassily:

Through the magic of tensegrity, the chair supports itself (and you) using impossibly thin stainless steel rods, nylon webbing and cotton canvas.
