The Glass Cabin by Mjölk architekti

Mjölk architekti have transformed a 130-year-old country house into a modern glass cabin without losing its old charm.

In the course of a major restoration of the original cabin, a new sparkling glass extension has emerged, expanding the living space and reflecting the changing nature of the interior. The contrast and harmony between the classic cottage space and the new light transparent structure is an architectural game where you go through a century in a second.

The cottage is placed on a meadow in the Jizera Mountains for over a hundred years. They kept what they could and added a new quality that does not want to compete with the past. Below you can see a few images shot by BoysPlayNice. To get further information about this project, please take a look at the website of Mjölk architekti.
