As with most furniture, anything large and custom tends to run pricey, but we are equal parts shocked and excited to discover Altitude, a new line of shelving from affordable furniture brand Cozey. The design by Evan Clabots is inspired by the clean lines of traditional Japanese woodworking, though we see similarities to traditional Danish design as well. Altitude features clean, minimal lines and an absence of a back panel that lends itself to the design’s open, airy look.

Installing the Altitude shelves couldn’t be easier. After using the included nails and Allen wrench to assemble the shelves, the installer tapes the included placement poster to visualize placement and mark the nail holes. A nail spacer is included to make sure the perfect amount of the nail is left unscrewed so that the shelf can be sturdily hung.
Altitude’s simple design allows it to stand on its on as a single unit or with multiple units to create a widespread, modular configuration. Each shelf can hold up to 90 pounds and is available in three finishes: Walnut, Oak, and Black Wood. Prices start $165 for a set of one, up to $990 for a set of six.
