The Lonely Crowd: an exhibition about the human error called loneliness

Not to be mistaken for the influential sociological book of David Reisman and his colleagues, The Lonely Crowd is an exhibit collaborated with Helikon Gallery with other studios. The works included in the collection are curated by Denver’s Abend Gallery and was hosted by Helikon to highlight their “shared curatorial visions.”

The Lonely Crowd focuses, in visual art, on loneliness – a human experience that is more often than not poorly and improperly acknowledged. It is emphasized in figurative illustrations that show melancholy, abandonment, and solitude. Each piece conveys a different kind of loneliness, and successfully depicts it into a message better understood in silence. A woman clutching a pillow in dark silence, a supernatural being in a blue mind trance, and uninhabited spaces are just a few of the works included in the exhibit.
