The Mission Workshop Mass Transit Duffle Offers Tremendous Versatility

When you hear the word “travel,” your mind probably wanders blissfully toward the promise of a vacation – somewhere distant that promises adventure, rest, and relaxation – requiring little more than a check-in suitcase. But in reality a lot of us travel primarily for work. With the average length of a domestic business trip in the U.S. spanning just three days, a carry-on solution like the Mission Workshop Mass Transit duffle bag is a more functional and fashionable travel solution for both short excursions focused on business, as well as a bit of weekend getaway leisure.

An optional sling strap allows the Mission Workshop Mass Transit duffel to be carried as a shoulder bag.

Stylishly executed, this duffle bag checks off all the marks of what we’re looking for in a carry-on: ample capacity for a change in clothing, toiletries, and tech necessities. It’s lightweight and weatherproofing delivers a versatility you can carry around.

As a longtime owner of the brand’s Rhake laptop backpack, this carry-on has accompanied me on hikes from the arid landscapes of Jordan to snowmobiling adventures across the Arctic Circle. It’s hard to find something as dependable with versatility and environmental durability. My confidence in this product is bolstered by its construction, with both the backpack and duffle sharing X-Pac® VX21 construction and weatherproofing.

The interior of the bag is lined with a 140D Nylon Ripstop Liner with waterproof TPU, designed to keep your contents safe from inclement weather. Storage includes a large laptop compartment, two zip pockets sized for pens, cords, and chargers, and four open compartments for other travel necessities

Mass Transit’s capacious interior allows for 33.6 liters of storage supplemented by four side organizational dividers. An optional backpack harness allows the duffel to be worn across the back or attached to the front of a bicycle rack porteur-style (the traditional-style rack famously used by Parisian newspaper deliverers on their bikes).

Mission Workshop originally offered the Mass Transit in three colors – Olive, Coyote, and Black – but only the latter two color options shown above are currently available. A smaller Transit duffle is also available with more color options at the expense of total capacity

Mission Workshop was born within the lifestyle-driven, technical cycling apparel and bags category, but the brand’s line of outdoor and travel gear is arguably one of the best sources of high grade travel gear aimed at people who live, work, and play out of a carry-on.
