TALE, a Korean design company, has created a new drinking product that references the nighttime sky through the smart and simple design of a ceramic vessel series called Moon Glass.
As the vessels are slowly emptied of their contents, the liquid references different moon stages. This is achieved through an altered interior space, a design-surprise that is not hinted at by the object’s exterior shape. When the dark sky vessel holds a milky-colored traditional rice wine, the moon cycle is clearly evident. As the design firm says: alcohol is made sweeter by the moonlight.
