Dougie Wallace’s latest project, titled Harrodsburg, shows us the grandiose and elegant lifestyles of the elite. It was a project that began by accident, while he was actually busy with other works.
He says, “I was visiting Knightsbridge regularly for a series I’d been working on comparing the life average expectancy in Glasgow (54 for men) versus the average life expectancy in Kensington and Chelsea (78 for men). The theater played out on the streets daily around Harrods caught my attention and I turned my camera to capturing the madness around there.”

You can get more information about Harrodsburg by getting a copy of his book, which will be published by Dewi Lewis on March 21st. The series will also be featured in an exhibit at ThePrinstSpace in London from March 16-21.
“All my photo series have a comic element but they also convey a larger message about society as a whole. Harrodsburg talks about wealth, greed, excess and accentuates the huge gap between the 1% and the rest of us.”
