These 30 People Found Ways Of Seeing Their Loved Ones Without Putting Them In Danger

According to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Data register on COVID-19, as of March 23, 2020, there are 351,731 total confirmed cases of the virus globally. Out of those, 15,374 people have succumbed to COVID-19, while a total of 100,430 have so far recovered. As the number of cases has doubled in recent weeks, countries around the world are trying to prevent or at least slow the spread of the virus. Most governments are advocating self-isolation and social distancing, going as far as introducing country-wide quarantines.

As such measures force people to stay at home and avoid outside human contact as much as possible, some families find themselves missing crucial life moments, like engagements or births. Well, we wouldn’t be humans if we didn’t find a way around it, right? The challenge, however, is to do that safely. And the answer to this problem seems to be very simple. Windows. People all over the world are sharing photos of how they interact with their loved ones through windows, all to keep themselves and others safe during this trying time. So scroll down below and check the photos out. Don’t forget to comment and vote for your favorites!

According to the World Health Organization, people should maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) of distance when interacting with people outside their household (or anyone if they’re coughing or sneezing.) “When someone coughs or sneezes, they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth, which may contain virus,” the organization’s site reads, “If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus, if the person coughing has the disease.”

However, social distancing is only one of the ways to protect yourself from the virus. WHO also recommends washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and practicing good respiratory hygiene (“This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.”)
