These mandalas made of bark and stones are so satisfying to look at

Mandalas come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and arrangements. The possibilities are endless. That is what inspired Matt W. Moore to create these strikingly-arranged mandalas.

The graphic designer, during an artist residency in Eden, Utah, decided to gather objects found in the physical environment scattered on mountains and nearby valleys and use them to create mandalas featuring concentric elements of bark, cattails, shale, and river stones.

Moore writes, “By the end of the series it no longer felt like assemblage art, instead it was more of a painterly process, with the palette to my left and my paintbrush replaced with elemental expressions and flourishes, kind of like painting with mother nature’s paintbrush.”
