Clem Chen has transformed the mundane “bike-seat” into creatures from hell. Looking at the photos below make me realize that the seat is, in fact, a kind of creepy shape…even without teeth.
His sculpture “Bite It” features a realistic looking mouth that would be deeply unsettling if it was actually being ridden. The mouth is so realistic because it is just that – a real taxidermy cast of an animal mouth. Gross! Chen’s other sculpture called “Pink Eye” is equally as disturbing and features a realistic eye bubbling up from your typical bicycle seat.
