This TikTok Video Comparing iPhone And Android Speed In Real Time Is Going Viral

There are cat people and dog people. No questions about that. Then, there are dark and white chocolate people (milk choco eaters stand in the middle.) And just like that, there are iPhone’s iOs and Android loyalists who have been divided since the dawn of time. Or rather, since 2007 when Steve Jobs released Apple’s first iconic smartphone sold in 6.1 million units.

The debate on which one is better and faster has been leaving family members torn apart at the Thanksgiving table, and lovers turning in opposite directions after realizing they’re not meant for each other.

And one TikTok user decided to run an experiment and measure the speed of Android and iPhone. Corylewis04’s video, which has been watched 2.6 million times, left Android users cheering loudly because, well, the result is kinda obvious. Will it end the everlasting debate, or simply add fuel to the burning fire? Time will tell, but I’m suspecting the latter.

The debate on which mobile phone is better, Android or iPhone, has been on and off, I mean on, for over a decade. That’s some serious dominance by the two big tech boys, but in reality, both iOS and Android operating systems are excellent. In order to find out which one performs better, one has to look at particular parameters and start from there.

According to Digital Trends, if you can’t make up your mind, you should “pick the things that matter most to you, count the wins in those categories, and you have a personalized recommendation.”

For example, affordability is always one of the most important things to think about before buying a phone. “Apple’s iOS is an exceptional operating system, but the high entry point has always been an issue for it,” suggests Digital Trends.

In fact, even if Apple’s iPhone SE and iPhone 11 have finally made the entry point lower, it still doesn’t come close to Android’s vast range of much more affordable devices.

When it comes to apps, Digital Trends counted that there are 2.7 million Android apps and 1.8 million iOS apps. Bear in mind that most popular apps operate on both systems. Moreover, the Play Store offers more free apps than the App Store, making iOS somewhat of the winner in this department.

Digital Trends suggests that even if “Google Maps would win this category hands-down,” Apple Maps have become a serious competitor with many improvements.

“Right now, Google Maps still has a small advantage due to its larger database of reviews and businesses,” concluded the report and added: “but its lead has narrowed a lot, and we expect to see this category fall into being a tie eventually.”

In the end, it’s always best to be open and listen to various points of view before making a decision on which phone to get. Think of what matters to you the most, and try to look at which device’s specific features give the best performance.
