Through shrinking and placement Isaac Cordal enlarges the imagination of walkers that discover his sculptures called ‘Cement Eclipses’ on the street. The figures are placed in locations that seem to open doors to other realms, in gutters, on top of buildings and at bus stops.
The tiny skeleton figures are dressed like humans and elicit both chuckles and tears. They seem to reveal a zombie-like world in which people are living despite devastation. But the figures also focus on the absurdity of our own human existence. The project depicts tragedies like suicide, accidental death and funerals to which people are able to relate.
