Touching environmental art piece presents 1,600 sculpted pandas. One for each left living in the wild.

French artist Paulo Grangeon is trained in art, worked as a wood sculptor for five years and as a wood designer for a factory for another twenty. Recently, Grangeon created 1,600 papier-mâché panda sculptures for an environmental activist installation in the streets of Taipei, Taiwan. Grangeon created one panda sculpture for each panda that can still be found in the wild – 1,600

Pandas are an endangered species. The installation is part of the Pandas World Tour, and urban intervention that was conceived in 2008 by the World Wildlife Federation WWF. The tour will continue on from Taipei to travel around the world.
