TPC Art Finance Joins ARTnews in Celebrating Frieze L.A. at The Terrace at Bar Lis Atop the Thompson Hollywood Hotel

Last week, Joe Charalambous and Naomi Baigell from TPC Art Finance joined ARTnews Editor-in-Chief Sarah Douglas and Senior Editor Maximilíano Durón to celebrate the best of what Frieze had to offer.

“It’s always a charge to look at art with others and see through other lenses than one’s own,” said Baigell, Managing Director of TPC Art Finance. “The fair started the conversations, which continued through amazing events like ARTnews’ ‘The Best of Frieze 2022.’”

Guests included artists Michele Pred and Tabitha Soren, collectors Ric Whitney and Tina Perry Whitney, art adviser and curator Sophia Penske, and New York collector, dealer, and gallerist Hong Gyo Shin. Attendees enjoyed wine from Paul Hobbs Winery, and took in views of Los Angeles from The Terrace at Bar Lis atop the Thompson Hollywood Hotel. Designed in a California modernist style by London-based Tara Bernerd & Partners, with Bar Lis incorporating accents from the French Riviera, the new 190-room hotel opened in August.

The event took place in the hours following the VIP previews of the art fairs Frieze Los Angeles, in a tent outside the Beverly Hilton, and the Felix LA Art Fair, across two floors and the poolside bungalows of the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. This year marks the third edition of Frieze L.A. and the fourth edition of Felix, which had a pared-down version of its annual fair last July.

The event was ARTnews’s second during Frieze week. The previous evening, ARTnews, along with its sister publication, Art in America, hosted an exclusive dinner for artists at the San Vincente Bungalows.
