U34: A Modern Light Exploring the Icosahedral Shape

U34: A Modern Light Exploring the Icosahedral Shape

The Monterrey, Mexico based SHIFT dropped the U32 – 1 back in 2015 and they’re back with a new geometric light that continues their explorations of polyhedrons. This time, they chose to go more spherical in volume with the U34 lamp, for GrupoLite, which boasts a icosahedral structure with 20 sides.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

Using equilateral triangular components, the lamp comes together easily by repeating the same size element for each face of the structure. That cuts down on production and assembly time when everything is identical. The nature of the design allows for it to be hung as a pendant or as a table lamp placed on one of its 20 sides.
