Finally, a truly revolutionary use for 3D printing. We have covered some strange applications for the exciting technology in past like these 3D-printed fetuses or this pizza 3D printer, but this invention by Andrew Maxwell-Parish tops them all. The inventor/artist has developed a machine that 3D prints something you can pick up at any corner store – Cheese Whiz.
The printer is… less than successful at printing even simple lines, but I’m not sure that is the point. The video might be sarcastic, highlighting the fascinating moment we are in, where we are printing everything and with every material we can get our hands on. The moment is reckless, creative, beautiful, and not here for long. Enjoy.
