New York City is truly a sight to behold. With so many visuals, artists and sight seers alike have been inspired by its rugged beauty and dazzling lights. Photographer Donna Daton was one of those inspired individuals and she decided to reinvent the image of the city using the mirrored reflections that can be found around every corner.
Growing up in Israel, Daton developed a love for architecture, one that eventually brought her to New York. In her collection ‘Reflections from Above’ she uses long exposure times and captures her images from high above. This vantage point allows for a symmetrical view, merging the window reflections and lights into a fantastic menagerie akin to the kaleidoscopes you used as a kid. Now, if only she’d reveal how she got access to those amazing heights!
