Photographer Amy Lombard and nail artist Natalie Pavloski teamed up on a disturbing project that pairs strange fake nails with greasy, sticky foods. The overarching sense of the images is appalling, bringing two distasteful things together in poorly-shot, blown out photographs. They are perfect.
Lombard shoots the situations in her signature saturated style and shows greasy burgers, fried chicken, and slices of pizza. The work is a glimpse of low-brow, low-income, low-class culture brought to an artful high fashion stage.
