Using GPS is hindering brain function, here’s something that can help

Archie Archambault, of Archie’s Press, cites new research which states that the widespread use of GPS technology is hindering our cognitive ability to create mental maps of our surroundings. His response was to develop a series of simplified maps that better help people understand a city’s neighborhoods and how they relate to each other.

Calling the series Map from the Mind, the artist visits each city before creating the map. The design is informed by these personal explorations and by the conversations that he has with locals.
