For those who like to live both on-the-go and off the grid, a mobile home is a great alternative to a traditional abode. People often opt to upcycle when designing these transportable tiny homes, turning a mini van, reclaimed wood, and—as in the case of Jessie Lipskin‘s beautiful dwelling—even a vintage Greyhound bus into miniature and movable dream houses.
Lipskin’s bus home features everything you need to live a comfy life on the road. Within its 400 square feet, it boasts two sleeping areas, one full bath, and a fully equipped kitchen. Air conditioning, laundry facilities, and LED lighting keep things comfortable, while hardwood floors and a Scandinavian minimalist aesthetic add a sophisticated and stylish touch.

Thanks to its amazing three-year makeover, it’s hard to believe that Lipskin’s amazing home was originally a 1966 cross-country coach found on eBay. With dreams of a sustainable lifestyle, she purchased the unassuming bus, hoping that its small stature would inspire her to live minimally.
“After graduating college, I lived in New York City and had the realization that people waste a lot of time focusing on physical items: purchasing them, misplacing them, and subsequently looking for them,” she tells Apartment Therapy. “Most of these items, from my standpoint, felt superfluous to a meaningful life and I realized that the time and emotional energy devoted to physical things could be better spent elsewhere. This was the spark that led me to my tiny home lifestyle.”
While she ended up loving her handiwork, she has since decided to sell her bus home in favor of an even more compact house on wheels. If you’d like to give this mobile home a spin, you can find its listing on Craigslist.
