Creating interactive and performative digital art is the specialty of the Lyon-based duo Adrien M / Claire B. Their newest project called ‘Kinetic Sand’ (Sable Cinétique) lets their audience interact with digitally responsive surfaces by way of this fascinating kinetic table.
When the table is touched, particles of dust or sand appear to swirl and move. The intensity of the swirling particles is directly correlated with the sensitivity of the users motion. The video below is just a preview of their final piece which will be on view for visitors to see and use at Palais de la Découverte in Paris.
