Plane spotting is actually a thing, everyone. To aviation enthusiasts, there’s nothing like watching an airplane take off and land – it is majestic. Even more so during the night. In photographer and filmmaker Milton Tan’s three and a half-minute long short film, these winged-machines look more like streaks of light.
Authorities at Singapore’s busy Changi Airport caught wind of Tan’s earlier videos and invited him to shoot one at the airport during the night. The airport has a takeoff/landing every minute, making the unusually-reversed timelapse even more hypnotic. On-screen, the planes look like abstract orbs of light moving in a carefully-orchestrated fashion.
