The company Dot One is unleashing our DNA, the code that makes us human, into designs that are as individual as their owners. Beginning with a simple cheek swab, the company uses the sequencing of your DNA to make patterned scarves and other products. When the DNA is visualized, the gene patterns can be clearly seen, and familial relationship show themselves as pattern similarities.
DotOne’s founder Iona Inglesby said, “By taking DNA profiling out of the lab and into the consumer environment, it is a fantastic way to stimulate conversation around genetics and decoding the language our cells are created with.”
