For book-worms who really get into ‘the zone’ when they read, getting emotional is a cinch. But for those wanting to experience their favorite book on an even deeper level this “wearable augmented book” by researchers at MIT should fit the bill.
‘Sensory Fiction‘ is a book that readers literally wear. It is equipped with sensors and actuators that produce “physical sensations to mimic the characters’ emotions.” For instance, if the protagonist is feeling upset, the book cover lights up and the vest vibrates, creating a physical experience to reflect the mood. Watch the video below to see the Sensory Fiction device at work.
