Wild art installation commissioned by Nike

The ‘myThread Pavilion’ is an indoor art installation by architectural designer Jenny Sabin. This innovative piece blurs the line between architecture, art, design and science. The piece was one of six commissioned installations by Nike Inc., who called for works inspired by their FlyKnit technology.

Among the materials used are adaptive knitted luminescent threads that are solar active and reflective. Another section features a steel cable net holding hundreds of aluminum rings. The materials react to sunlight and to the presence of people inside of the installation to provide an interactive art experience.

The myThread Pavilion’s adaptable sensitivity and flexibility mirror the human form, as well as create a link between biology and innovation, technology and tradition. You can learn more about the piece at Jenny Sabin’s website.
