Wobbly cityscape sculptures made from Jell-O

San Francisco-based artist Liz Hickok uses a unique medium for her artwork. With Jell-O as her sole material Hickok set out to build miniature versions of famous cityscapes. She builds recognizable landmarks like the White House, the Golden Gate Bridge and The Statue of Liberty. Showing a true commitment to her medium Hickok went as far as building an entire city out of Jell-O.

Lit from below, the molded shapes blur into a jewel-like mosaic of luminous color and volume. While their wobbly quality might not make Jell-O a practical building material, it adds to the childlike charm of her works. Unfortunately, under constant light, these colorful dessert sculptures are easily perishable, but the sweet delights remain forever documented in the photographs below.
