Yea or Nay? A Chair with a "Pocket"

France-based industrial designer Tim DeFleur asks if easy chairs should be places to stow things. His experimental Pocket Chair invites you to “put all of your personal stuff in the ‘pocket.'”

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

And thanks to the form, it’s “easy to clean,” he writes. “Say goodbye to lost money, keys etc. hidden behind cushions.”

DeFleur prototyped the chair in powder-coated steel, but as far as I can tell, only produced one. Which is a shame; I’d like to see more iterations and explorations of chair as temporary storage object.

I’d also like to see what these would harvest if placed in a public area, like a waiting room. Actually, strike that—I mean in a public place outside of America. I know what our citizens would leave in it: Garbage and food wrappers.
