Photographing dogs is not new to Ty Foster. You might remember his work from this series of adorable pups wearing the dreaded cone of shame. His new book, Lick, shows those sweet and slobbery moments when a dog’s tongue is reaching out.
The Connecticut-based photographer was inspired by the work of Carli Davidson’s Shake series. He explained that the project began by seeing the outtakes from one of his other photography projects. “When running through the images pulling an edit I found myself stopping and laughing at all these dogs and their expressions while licking in studio,” he said “These images weren’t intentional but just ‘bloopers’.”
