In a NYT column, visual journalist Christoph Niemann created a series of humorous maps that will inevitably cause a laugh, a chuckle, or a groan. Using the design style of Google maps, Niemann then tackled topics such as the Hokey Pokey, omelets, and airport security.
The German-born artist has had his work included in The New Yorker, Time, Wired, and The New York Times Magazine, to name a few. However, in an unlikely crossover, his work has also met success exhibiting in galleries. A show of his work is currently on display in Vienna at the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art.
