While civilian casualties rise as Putin continues his 12th day of military invasion in Ukraine, where men and women are fighting against the unprecedented aggression, street artists around the world are condemning Russia’s attack in their own way.
As artists, they have a voice to speak up and influence others, and a moral obligation to act against injustice. So they took their peaceful weapons to the streets and sprayed the walls with stunning, yet heartwrenching murals to support Ukraine.

The cities in Wales, Sweden, the US, England, Finland, Germany, Italy, France, Scotland, Lithuania, Indonesia, and many more countries have now turned into urban galleries that not only openly criticize and mock Putin, but send support to the people of Ukraine and give hope to the world in turmoil. Below are some of the most touching examples that, although silently, speak louder than bombs.

Seth also said that although he does not usually express his views on current events, he knows “how important it is for the people living through this dramatic situation to know that we are thinking of them.” He added: “I painted this in Paris for the Ukrainian people, particularly for my friend Oleg who is still in Kyiv.”

We also spoke with WOSKerski, an interdisciplinary artist based in London. Recently, he painted a beautiful mural of a woman dressed in a chunky knit hat, colored in bold Ukrainian flag colors. “I’m aware of how meaningless the online support is to the brave people of Ukraine fighting for their lives and their country but I still hope this little tribute will help somehow,” WOSKerski wrote on his Instagram adding that “let’s hope this madness ends soon.” The mural can be found in the Shoreditch area, London.

“So first of all I have no idea who the girl is and originally she wasn’t wearing Ukrainian flag colors. So I changed quite a few bits when working on the design,” WOSKerski told us. “I was drawn to the portrait as I feel that her face expresses a mixture of outrage, fear and solemn determination to fight and I believe we are all equally outraged and shocked by what’s happening,” he explained.
“We can all support brave people of Ukraine by offering them shelter and supporting them financially, but as an artist, I strongly felt that it’s my duty and moral obligation to reach a wider audience and show both my support of Ukraine and also to raise awareness,” WOSKerski concluded
