9 crude illustrations poke fun at pop culture

Musician and artist Elliot Baker creates crude illustrations of pop culture scenarios. Using a naive drawing style Baker depicts celebrities like Macaulay Culkin and Kevin Bacon in nonsensical narratives.

One piece shows a pig character, implied to be Kevin Bacon (get it?), flipping his middle fingers at the viewer. The illustration is captioned “Kevin Bacon takes a stand” and makes an absurd and vague comment on injustice and helplessness. The equal pairing of a pig’s fate, to be eaten, with human pop references emphasizes the vulnerable state of many aspects of contemporary culture.
