For vehicles making repeated passes within a fixed area, like a dump truck on a jobsite, 3-point turns are a massive time sink. And time being money, tracked vehicle manufacturer Prinoth developed this crazy Panther T14R rotating-top dump vehicle, “designed to boost uptime and operator performance:”

“With its 13,200 kg (29,100 lb.) payload capacity, this rotating rubber tracked dumper allows contractors to work in tight, sensitive areas where other vehicles do not have access. The T14R’s overall design offers superior visibility through unrestricted cab views for increased safety for operators and other jobsite workers.”

“[The Panther T14R features] PRINOTH’s patent-pending innovation called a direction reset, which essentially allows the operator to reset the vehicle’s upper and lower portions’ alignment (front to back) by simply pushing a button, the T14R allows the continuous rotation of the upper portion of the vehicle independent from the undercarriage.”
