A diverse visual art exhibit tribute to David Lynch

Film history has cemented the fact that David Lynch is one of the most important pop culture figures whose quirky directing style continues to influence and resonate with the artistic community. A token of appreciation for Lynch’s best works, ‘In Dreams’ was a fantastic art show tribute held by San Francisco art space Spoke Art earlier this year.

With a wide array of styles, over 90 prints and posters in the exhibition are directly inspired by the auteur’s cult TV and cinema classics like Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead, Wild At Heart and Mulholland Dr. The man himself and his trademark quiff is also the subject of a number of portraits done in a surreal and strange style reminiscent of Lynch’s own aesthetic.

Check out the stunning homages below and see how many characters and references you can spot.
