A Funnel Designed with a "Dosing Piston"

Blim Plus, an Italian kitchenware brand formed by industrial designer Raffaello Galiotto, produces this unusual funnel of Galiotto’s design:

Called Dolina (Italian for “sinkhole”), the polypropylene funnel contains an O-ring-sealed “dosing piston” that can be controlled, via a trigger, to either completely seal the funnel, or to control the flow of the pour:

My hat’s off to Galiotto. I’m always impressed when someone can rethink an everyday object and improve the UX.

Dolina runs €13.90 (USD $15).
