A Simple, Elegant Flatpack Stool with No-Tool Assembly

Finnish industrial designer Ville Kokkonen designed this simple but elegant stool for Iwatemo, a design brand that utilizes traditional craftspeople from Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

“Flatpack wooden stool. When disassembled, it occupies less than half the space of its footprint. Compact, no screws nor glue – wooden joinery. Produced by Junboku Furniture Inc. Japanese chestnut and ash.”

The stool is 45cm (17.7″) wide and tall, and 30cm (11.8″) deep. It retails for ¥36,000 (USD $274).
