One of the first things to look weathered when a building is unkempt is the floor. It becomes dirty, covered with mud, dust, and forgotten objects. In a beautiful project, Javier de Riba is painting the floors of abandon buildings for a shocking visual effect.
He paints precise patterns of colorful tiles, making the floor look new and clean within a crumbling environment. It looks like the floors have been selectively restored and gives a time traveling peek into what the space may have once looked like.
