Academy Award®–Contending Series—Cassandro and Post-Screening Conversation

LACMA members are invited to join FILM at LACMA for a special screening of Cassandro and a post-screening conversation featuring: director and co-writer Roger Ross Williams; actor and executive producer Gael García Bernal; costume designer Mariestela Fernández; and composer Marcelo Zarvos.

Saúl Armendáriz (Gael García Bernal), a gay amateur wrestler from El Paso, rises to international stardom after he creates the character Cassandro, the “Liberace of Lucha Libre.” In the process, he upends not just the macho wrestling world, but also his own life.
