Albert Paley and Corning’s Specialty Glass Residency

Albert Paley is the first artist to participate in the Specialty Glass Residency, a collaboration of The Corning Museum of Glass and Corning Incorporated. In this residency, Paley, who is best known for his large-scale works in metal, is working with Corning specialty glass Code 7056, a borosilicate glass that was engineered to bond tightly to a metal alloy called Kovar.

In December 2014, he completed the third session of his residency. Listen as Corning Museum of Glass chief scientist Glen Cook describes the work completed in that session.
