Alexey Luka for Art Ovrag in Viksa, Russia

We recently travelled to Viksa, a city in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast with our friend Ilya Vdovin, President of the Russian Skateboard Federation for the opening of a new skate-park and to discover the Art Ovrag project.

Art Ovrag teamed up with the local United Metallurgical Company (OMK) to create a series of site-specific works on their gigantic factory site. Working with curator Olga Pogasova, Alexey Luka met up with the factory workers to create a piece that would take inspiration from their own story. The final artwork uses colors and shapes that can be found inside the working site. A rare encounter between Art and Industry which ends up as beautiful abstract artwork that will surely be enjoyed by the locals for years to come.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.
