Artist spends 35 years recreating San Francisco with toothpicks

Over 35 years, using thousands of toothpicks, Scott Weaver has created his masterpiece. “Rolling Through the Bay” is a model of San Francisco created completely from toothpicks held together with glue.

The replica is also interactive, and shuffles ping pong balls, representing tourists, to some of the cities hotspots: including Chinatown, the Golden Gate Bridge and Lombard Street. Weaver has been building replicas out of toothpicks since he was eight years old, and this is his largest undertaking to date.
