It’s hard to imagine that even 22 years after the apartheid, barriers segregating rich neighborhoods from the poor still exist. Johnny Miller sheds light on this from above.
The photographer takes to the air to capture the segregated neighborhoods that still exist in South Africa and the resulting photos are as astonishing as they are eye-opening. The series, titled, “Unequal Scenes”, speaks to Miller’s desire “to portray the most Unequal Scenes in South Africa as objectively as possible.” The tightly-packed, overpopulated communities are effectively contrasted to the well-designed neighborhoods of the wealthy.
