Bella Ciao Craft Beer—Brand & Packaging Design by Marçal Prats

Check out this craft beer branding inspired by ’70s demonstrations and Italian futurism.

Bella Ciao is a unique lager craft beer that pays homage to the famous libertarian anthem, a call for universal struggle against all political and social oppression. So Marçal Prats came up with a design that uses images taken from pamphlets of social protests in Rome during the 1970s, while the logotype and typefaces are inspired by the ground-breaking Futurism work of Italian artist Fortunato Depero.

“The main purpose of the design is to express the power of the protest, using a strong combination with a striking contrast between the colors red, black, and white. In addition, the lo-fi quality reproduction of the progressive ideological print materials of the 1970s is also expressed in the design of the label, box, and coaster, using offset printing as if it were a mere photocopier.”
