BIFUR is a minimal compact scale created by New York-based designer Kebei Li. The portable scale can configure from its collapsed state to its expanded form via two upper arms that pivot out to provide a tripod platform.
The ridge of the main arm contains the functions, which include on/off, tare, unit change, and timer. Strain gauge load cells positioned underneath each of the three arms receive inputs that calculate the weight while the timer function provides precise coffee brew procedures and other time-tracked processes.
The form takes on molded polycarbonate housing with die-casted zinc alloy joints. The internals consist of a lithium ion battery with a capacitive touch interface alongside its shine-through LED matrix display.
