Case Studyo and Felipe Pantone Put a New Spin on the Spectrum of Color

What appears to be the most beautiful vertical turntable is in reality a kinetic sculpture created by Argentinian-Spanish artist, Felipe Pantone for art collaborator and purveyor, Case Studyo. Pantone’s ‘Subtractive Variability’ series rotates three color printed acrylic disks to “demonstrate chromatic phenomena”, a flowing visual representation of the artist’s exploration of the ephemeral.

Case Studyo says:

In this case the automatic rotation of three acrylic discs creates unexpected color formations to the point the piece can turn into a hue that represents the absence of color, a shade of black. The sculpture randomly explores the spectrum of color and the full range of emotions evoked by every nuance. The sleek mechanics in motion capture the surrounding light making the edition produce striking and perpetually evolving results, encouraging the viewer to embrace change and find beauty in evolution.
