Dazzling floor installations

The artist calls the patterned floor installations “ZOBOP”. Using vinyl tape to transform spaces, the bold patterns interact with the architecture by creating colored ripples around a building column or jagged pixelation near wall pillars.

Glasgow-based artist, Jim Lambie, has been creating works in this series since 1999. Over the years, he has created the floor installations in several museums. He explains in an interview that he began with the question: “How do I fill a space and empty a space at the same time?”
