Three-eyed dogs and alligator men romp through vibrant comic panels and interlocking patterned designs in German artist Yeye Weller‘s illustrations. Weller’s stoner-friendly compositions mix gloopy, viscous shapes with sharp, angular patterns emblazoned with slogans like “Supa Kool.” His goal with his artwork is to look nice, be funny, or both.
One of the Müenster-based artist’s most attractive assets is his carefully selected color palette, and he considers his “everyday struggle” to be developing the right hues and chromas. “It is always the first thing I do,” he tells The Creators Project. “I use my big collection of colored pencils for inspiration, and Photoshop for the fine-tuning.”
At the end of the day, though, making art is theraputic for the Münster University of Applied Sciences alum. “The best moment for being creative is while lying hungover in bed. No mental blocks, no demands on my thoughts…just me, my keyboard and pizza.” Soothe your own hangover with the distorted eye-candy in his Instagrams below.
