Dresses made out of balloons by Rie Hosokai

Japanese designer Rie Hosokai has a fascination with a unique fabric material: balloons. Together with art director Takashi Kawada, the collective known as ‘Daisy Balloon’ create exciting and elegant dresses made entirely from balloons of all shapes, sizes and colors.

They’re not exactly practical – the squeaking alone would drive anyone crazy. But, the craftsmanship and creativity on display here is museum quality. Rie Hosokai has successfully turned ‘knitting’ balloons into a sophisticated, wearable art form.

You can expect to see Lady Gaga sporting these on the red carpet in the future!  See more of this crazy fashion on Daisy Balloon’s website.
