Eerie taxidermy portraits question modern beauty standards

Mothmeister is an artist couple creating weird and wonderful art that digs into our modern self-obsessed tech culture through creepy sculpture. They make scarecrow-like fantasy figures using cloth, hats, props, latex, and taxidermy techniques. The strange figures are often accompanied by taxidermy animals that are a part of Mothmeister’s personal collection.

Mothmeister explains that their “anonymous, ugly masked figures [are] a reaction against the dominant exhibitionism of the selfie culture and beauty standards marketed by the mass media.”
